    New Skin

Do you 'all like the new skin?
    Haha.
Those old click-and-read skins are getting so passe.
    Well.
I guess simplicity is "in" now.
    Hmm.
    Let me see.
Time's running out for us dudes.
The exams are just next door for god's sakes!
    Darn.
    I guess I'm fairly confident.
    Not well prepared. Yet.

It seems like the saying's true.
That saying that goes " A leopard doesn't change its spots".
    Yeah.
I shall resort to ye olde story-telling-mode of discreetly-revealing-secrets-that-no-longer-stay-as-secretive-as-they-were-before.
    Here goes.

    She stared poker-faced at him.
Across the large expense of room.
Her lack of expression hid the turmoil she was feeling inside.
Sometimes she wanted to listen to The Elders.
But sometimes she just couldn't suppress her negative thoughts and feelings towards him.
She thought he would have learnt from his failed assignment.
Learn from The Elders and recuperate at the Temple.
Lay low while the enemy scowled the plains seeking to destroy him.
But there wouldn't be any story to tell if he'd followed The Elder's orders would there?
    So yes.
He meditated for a few days, regaining his bearings while the Acolytes sought to infuse him with their healing energies.
And then he was off again.
Spying on the enemy and picking off the stragglers.
Of course this did not go unnoticed by the evil Queen.
But she was glad for the entertainment he provided.
She goaded him constantly, sending patrols of Dark Goblins to parry with him while she worked her occult spells.
He continued his ineffective attack on the enemy while his officer. The Sham Tul waited anxiously at the Temple for his return.
Slowly, the ill effects of the Dark Queen's spells began to show.
Everywhere He travelled, the earth seemed to melt below his feet.
Turning from packed earth to bubbling mud in seconds.
The mud pulled at his feet, sucking him in while bubbles of noxious gas burst free from the foul mud he trod in.
The Sham Tul watched, her minions scurrying back and forth in an attempt to report on His progress while avoiding the Dark queen's Silver Apostles.
But not once did the Protege slow or stop.
He continued felling great numbers of the Queen's underlings no matter how insignificant those numbers were.
Until the Earth eventually died at his feet.
The Dark Queen's Magics had finally served their ultimate goal.
So poisoned was the earth that the dirt fell away from where the Protege's feet were. he scrambled for footage as the ground below him split apart to reveal a seemingly endless abyss beneath.
He unsheathed his axe, swinging the blade into the sides of the earth to stop his fall.
But the spells were far stronger than he had percieved.
The earth trickled away from his axe such that it could find no purchase on the sides of the abyss.
It was evident now to the Protege that he was in a shaft leading him to the Dark Queen herself.
Summoning his inner Ki, he projected an aura of radiance around him, encasing him in its protective glow.
Kneeling within the barrier, he calmed his pounding heart and scryed for the omni present mind of the Sham Tul.
Feeling her mental gaze upon him, he looked her once in the eye.
She stared at him, her anger almost tangible even across that immense distance.
In a final act of defiance, flung his weapon at her thought-figure, watching her mental projections ripple and fade away.
His head hung low as he realised that he was finally alone.
    To be continued...

Haha. Ok I admit I got carried away. This is a gross exageration of what I wanted to say. But there it is. Enjoy it. :)
